COVID Update #7
Hello Wonder Students!
We are so thankful for you, our devoted students, and want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we all compromise and adjust to this constantly changing situation. Our goal is always to support our students for successful learning, and we are working diligently to balance that goal while complying with COVID-19 restrictions.
Please read this carefully, as we have worked hard to answer all your questions.
We have personally been in touch with the governor's office and we are doing everything possible to comply with their requests, mandates, and mitigations as laid out by the state. Unfortunately, there is a small gap regarding where dog training as a business stands with some of these mandates (which is why we have made an extra effort to contact the governor's office). We have been largely conservative with our management and gone above and beyond the recommendations. Simultaneously, we were closed for the past two weeks due to general recommended business practices.
Since we chose to take the conservative approach as a business, we have decided to open again as allowed, with updated COVID safety protocols, including limiting attendance to one handler per dog. At the same time, we recognize that coming to an in-person class may not be ideal for every family member or pet due to personal risk-benefit assessments. We want to be the right training school for you and your family. Our new practice will include offering a hybrid class model to meet everyone's needs in a safe manner that is most comfortable for each person.
All classes may be attended in-person or via zoom and we are still offering online private training as well as our drop-off tutoring service to address your needs.
Personal services with proper precautions and sanitation are allowed to continue operating. We have updated our COVID safety protocols and upon entrance we have everyone sanitize, and only allow one handler and dog to enter at a time. We have 8 stations that are spaced 20 feet apart, in a 12,000 sq ft building. Instructor(s) are in the middle of annex with headset to ensure everyone’s safety. For those who would prefer to stay home all classes are offering a hybrid option allowing students to zoom into in-person classes. We are continually monitoring the situation for everyones safety, making adjustments as needed, and we are prepared to go fully online at anytime.
Our goal is to provide safe and comfortable training to help you and your canine partner be a better part of our community and beloved member of your family. COVID 19 has changed the way we do so many things, and as a small business, we are working hard to provide a valuable service to you and your family during this difficult time. We hope you can appreciate our small business trying our best to navigate this pandemic, as are all of us, and know that we value your support.
Wonder Dogs hopes that you can find a comfortable option for you and your dog to continue training. We value and respect your choices and please feel free to let us know if you have any other thoughts, concerns, or questions.
Yours in bonds of fur,
Jenn, Lisa, Bridget, Ashley and the rest of the Team at Wonder Dogs
